Kome-No-Megumi Candles
Kome-No-Megumi, the "blessing of rice". These candles are made with 100% natural rice bran wax, a byproduct of the rice milling process, and are sustainable, plant-based, and gentle to the planet. The wicks are made from wrapping a dried reed around a washi paper cylinder. The unique shape and plant-based wax allows for a beautifully bright, tall flame, which generates little soot or smoke.
Takazawa was established in 1892 and is one of the oldest candle makers in Japan. The candles produced by Takazawa use techniques and materials that have not changed since the 16th century.
