Wonderful set of five sculptural candles, inspired by the plant life of the Noto peninsula, where Takazawa is based. Made from sumac wax, with a wick of dried reed wrapped around washi paper. Sumac wax is plant-based, gentle on the environment, and creates a bright, tall flame with less smoke and soot than other waxes.

Each box comes with 5 candles, which last around 110 minutes each. Each candle measures 4".

Candle stand sold separately. Pairs well with the Medium Koma Candle Stand.

Takazawa was established in 1892 and is one of the oldest candle makers in Japan. The candles produced by Takazawa use techniques and materials that have not changed since the 16th century.
